Holy Family School instills values in our children and educates the whole child while striving for excellence. We wouldn’t choose any other option!
-Sheri Gehring, 6th Grade Teacher
I am delighted to be the principal of Holy Family School. I have my Masters degree in Special Education from Eastern Washington University and am a Washington State Certified Principal. I received my principal’s credentials from Washington State University. I worked for Spokane Public Schools for 16 years. During that time, I taught 7th and 8th grade special education, Kindergarten, first grade, resource room and Integrated Kindergarten. I was a Principal’s Assistant at the elementary level. In the summer of 2015, I accepted the position of principal of Holy Family School and moved to Clarkston. The best part of Holy Family School is the family atmosphere. This is the perfect sized school which allows staff and students to know and care for one and other. I also enjoy celebrating religious holidays and being surrounded by others who share similar values and beliefs.
I have been teaching since 2000 and began my career working for the Spokane Diocese right after graduating from Lewis-Clark State College in 1999, where I received my Elementary Education degree. In 2002, I began at Holy Family School in Clarkston and have taught 6th grade and math for 4th & 5th grades since. I am devoted to making our school move forward to tomorrow and truly enjoy working with the students. Family values and a Catholic education are important to us and that is why we have chosen Holy Family School for our children’s education. The school instills values in our children, educates the whole child and pushes them to excellence. We wouldn’t choose any other option!
I was born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa. I received my bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Idaho and continued at Lewis Clark State College for my teaching certificate. I have always enjoyed the Pacific Northwest and consider the LC Valley and Palouse my second home. I enjoy playing in the great outdoors, learning new languages, gardening, and trips to Iowa to spend time with my family. When I was asked to join Holy Family School, I was elated to discover a truer sense of the meaning for family and teamwork. I truly consider it such a pleasure to be a part of the Holy Family community!
I have been teaching at Holy Family School for over 20 years. I graduated from Lewis Clark State College with a dual degree in education in 1991. I am married to the love of my life, Paul and we have two adult children who graduated from Holy Family School. I love to golf, scrapbook, read and garden. What I love about Holy Family School is how special yet spiritual it feels to me. It has a very family feel to it and that is why I have taught here for so many years. I especially love watching the kids’ eyes light up when they discover new things when learning.
I was born and raised in the Lewis-Clark Valley and fortunate to attend Holy Family School in my youth. I am passionate about our program and really enjoy our friendly atmosphere and supportive staff. I have been teaching for 10 years and hold a Professional Teaching Certification in Washington State. When I’m not teaching I enjoy spending time with my wife and two great kids, Claire and Adam, who make our life a continuous adventure.
I’m in my 22nd year of teaching second grade at Holy Family School. I am state certified in both Idaho and Washington. I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at Lewis Clark State College. I worked for The Northwest Children’s Home for three years before working at Holy Family School. I have nothing but great things to say about our school and have had many wonderful experiences working here.
When I started at HFS I taught 2nd grade and soon moved to kindergarten. Yes, I taught kindergarten for many years until 2008 when I went into 1st grade, which I love very much. There is so much love for learning, friendships and enthusiasm each day. Our family has history with HFS over the years. Besides numerous aunts/uncles/cousins who attended HFS, my husband Mike is also a graduate. So, it was the only consideration for our children Jon and Stephanie. After graduating from Clarkston High School, I ventured to Washington State University and became a Coug. There I found Early Childhood Education graduating in 1980. In the fall of 1982 began my teaching career at Holy Family School.
I am married with two children and a dog. I am a graduate of Portland State University with a Masters in Elementary and Special Education. My hobbies are spending time with family, reading, bike rides and walking the dog. I enjoy reading mysteries, religious and humorous books. I am an alumnus of Holy Family School. I love the community and family feel of HFS. I believe sharing and learning about faith combined with our strong academic programs make our school amazing.
I have been the preschool teacher since 2013, where I am constantly kept on my toes by my eager learners! I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Lewis-Clark State College in 2007. I am a graduate of Holy Family, and am honored to now be part of this great group of educators. I love working here, where we excel at educating the whole child, not limiting teachings to just the pages on a book. This school is a close knit family and I am lucky to be apart of it. When I’m not in the classroom, I like to spend my free time reading a good book, or out playing disk golf with Rick, my husband, and Myra, my dog. And when it warms up, we all enjoy a lazy float down the river.
Sophia just finished her bachelor’s degree from WSU and we are thrilled to have her join our family.
I received my BA in music and English education at California State University: Dominguez Hills and received my teaching certification at Lewis-Clark State College. I also give private music lessons for piano and flute. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my family, playing with my dogs and community theatre at the Lewiston Civic Theatre.
